Our Integument

In 2015, Auckland's housing market was at a crisis. The National government allowed wealthy landlords to buy investment properties and rent them out at high prices. Many of the houses were unfit for living in. Conditions Included mouldy walls + windows, leaks, and damp, cold interiors. The government at the time was also refusing to put a budget aside to build more safe, dry homes for families and the flock of internationals immigrating to New Zealand. This project was a part of a secondment study in the last year of Amber's Bachelor of Performing and Screen Arts.
The choreography was a collaboration led by Amber Liberté, with Leah Carrell, Jasmine Donald, and Cushla Roughan.

Auckland's housing crisis still continues today, with many families living in overcrowded and overpriced conditions.
