In 2020, Amber was awarded the Wellesley Summer Choreographic Residency for the intensive 3-week development, where she created the first stage of her work Standing In The Threshold with her collaborator Veronica Butturini. She has mentor and dance-maker Ross McCormack working to oversee and guide the process. In 2019, she was invited to be a guest for a month-long visual arts & dance at George Enescu University of Arts in Iasi, Romania. The culmination of the project resulted in a public gallery showing with a partially visual arts presentation, and a live performance with the artists she collaborated with while there.
Amber has been mentored by some of NZ's most established practitioners: Alexa Wilson (Experimental Dance Week), Red Leap Theatre, Ross McCormack (Muscle Mouth), Julia Harvie (MAP), and Nisha Madhan (Programming manager at The Basement Theatre & Theatre-maker)
